Surfs up! Today we took some of our crew down to Gloucester, MA to do some location scouting. When the Music Stops is based on the life of Lynne Johnson, our director's aunt, who grew up in Gloucester. It was important to us to feature real locations that Lynne experienced and frequented in her childhood to give the story an authentic and personal touch.
We took the Black Magic Cinema Camera on the road with us so we could get our sea legs. Although we're no strangers to this camera, we felt it was necessary to run a test shoot to see how the footage would look at these locations and under specific conditions.
This is the first leg of our journey into pre-production, and there will be plenty more scouting trips in the future, so stay tuned!
